Burgers Burgers Burgers! Relish @ Cluny Court

Address:
501 Bukit Timah Road #02-01 Cluny Court

Tel: +65 6763 1547

For you burger lovers out there, you should check out Relish (same owner as Wild Rocket, Wilin Low). Here are some photos and bite size info on the food there .. Enjoy and wipe that drool off your keyboard :)

Friend of mine, Charmaine had this and I got to pick on some of it. It's interesting that they should attempt to put the usual big breakfast into a burger LOL. Muffin is used to hold the mince beef patty, cheese, scrambled eggs and tomato together. Sauteed mushrooms and bake beans on the side. Overall, I would say that it was nothing great in terms of taste. It's what I call a lazy person's breakfast LOL ... stick everything into a bun and gobble :)

The Char Siew Burger .. this was a pleasant surprise, meat was succulent and juicy, the sauce wasn't overpowering, and it brought an interesting asian twist to the traditional American burger

The Buttermilk Pancakes: These were seriously yummy. I think what made all the difference was the buttermilk. It was thick, fluffy and really nice and tasty. We asked for additional butter (yes, I can hear my arteries crying out for help) and honey .. spread, pour and savour. The pancakes were gone in 30secs!

Imperial Treasure - My Dim Sum Treasure

Imperial Treasure @ Crown Plaza T3

Bunch of us girls headed out to Imperial Treasure @ Crown Plaza T3 after a swim yesterday and I was pleasantly surprised with the quality dim sum that they were serving. The century egg congee was just to my liking, nice consistency, loads of ingredients and just perfect in taste. The har gao, siew mia, prawn roll, carrot cake, char siew pao and fu pei guen were all good, but what wowed me was the red bean and banana puff and the egg tart. The egg tart was light and fluffy, the red bean and banana puff was something special. Head down there and give it a try. Price is higher than Red Star, but quality and service makes it all worth the extra $$$

Around $20 per head

Emberlicious

Ember (Hotel 1929)

50 Keong Saik Road
Singapore 089154 Singapore
+65 6347 1929

This restaurant is located in the notorious Hotel 1929. The elegance and aesthetics of the hotel extends on to the restaurant as well. Vintage Louis Poulsen lamps, fashionable chairs, and dark wood Z chairs at the bar give the place a contemporary look. Executive Chef Sebastian Ng serves a fine blend of European Cuisine with an Asian influence. Friday evenings are exceptionally busy nights, and reservations are highly recommended.

Brought a client out to lunch last Thursday and all I can say is the food was amazing! I've been here a couple of times for dinner but the executive lunch is really value for money :)

For starter, I had the Pan Seared Foie Gras with Caramelised Apple and Clove Port and Raspberry Glaze ... oh, it is to die for lol. They have it cooked 5 ways for starters, so you will be spoilt for choice if you love foie gras.

For main, I had the tenderloin cooked to perfection (tender, juicy, lightly seasoned - nothing complicated to take away the taste), accompanied with a truffle mash which totally blew my mind. I had to remind myself that it was a fine dining restaurant and I am in the company of a client, to stop myself from licking the little cup that it was served in.

For dessert, I had the Warm valrhona chocolate cake with vanilla bean ice cream. I am a real sucker for chocolate cake with oozing molten hot dark chocolate, so it totally hit the spot for me. Seeing the tiny little vanilla beans in the ice cream was a real bonus, nothing beats having fresh ingredients in your food.

It was a delectable lunch with my client constantly raving about the food. For the 3 course set lunch, SGD 38 +++ I'm definitely coming back, just got to figure out who else I can bring for my next visit :)

My lil long weekend in Pulau Aur

After an intensive quarter of number chasing, I was dying for a break .. any break & the 1st opportunity I got was the long easter weekend. A bunch of us gals, decided to head out to Aur for a lil getaway.

Many islands in Malaysia have the perfect ingredients to be tropical paradises: crystal clear waters, clean powdery sands, swaying palms, and sunny skies. Pulau Aur is definitely among them; far from the maddening crowd, the island offers opportunities to explore underwater havens or just to laze around. Pulau Aur has unusual scenic beauty, with secluded lagoons and offshore pools that make it an idyllic destination to get away from it all.

I think we were pretty lucky with our dives (did 6 in total):

The bo chap turtle

The ugly moray eel

The blue spotted ray

Dive bud Jac & Lynnie

There were sightings of black tip shark, yellow fin tuna, barracudas, gigantic hump head parrot fish, manta rays (which we didn't get to see) and buah yas (I kid you not!)

We had 3 days of eat, dive, eat, dive, eat, dive, eat, drink, sleep, eat, dive ... the food was good, the accomodation was decent (except for the fact that we had to climb like kazillion steps to get to our lil shed) and the weather was awesome. I got my lil getaway with 3 great friends and a pocket full of memories :)
